We have put together this site to help you prepare your trip to Brittany for our wedding in May. Here you will find information on transportation, lodging and places to visit. We are thrilled to be able to share this moment with you in this idyllic corner of the planet. We hope you have an unforgettable time!
“You're getting married where?!?”
BRITTANY[carte] is located on the northwest coast of France, on the Atlantic Ocean. It is divided into 4 departments, the westernmost of which is FINISTÈRE (pronounced fin e stare). Literally translated, this means "the end of the earth." Standing on the rocky coastline looking out over the sea, it is easy to understand how the area came to be named. We decided this would be an appropriate place to take the 'plunge' into married life together…
The wedding will be held in LANDERNEAU (pronounced lawn dare no), a charming coastal town in Finistère. Please visit the rest of the site to learn more about the town, available accommodation and transportation.
"Sounds great! When should I arrive?"
We suggest arriving in Landerneau by Thursday night the 5th. This will give you some time to recover from the jetlag and to explore the town before the wedding festivities begin on Saturday. The town itself is considered to be an 'open air museum' and we are arranging a walking tour in English for Friday the 6th at 11am.
The wedding will begin in the late afternoon on Saturday the 7th at the Château de Kerezellec, which is about 10 minutes outside of Landerneau. There will be a shuttle to take you from the hotel to the Château and to bring you home again when you have had too much champagne.
For those of you who are able to stay an extra day, lunch on Sunday the 8th will be served at a creperie in a nearby forest. I definitely suggest sticking around for this! Crepes are the regional specialty of Brittany and they are traditionally served with Normandy cider. (Could you ask for a better cure for your champagne hangover???) Again, transportation will be provided to and from the creperie.
